The Annual Night Sky Observation Camp is one of the most anticipated events of the year for students of our school. National Youth Rapid Chess Championships 2023

National Youth Rapid Chess Championships 2023 was held on 22nd April 2023 at Shastrananda Navodya Vidyalaya, Kawdana, Dehiwala. This is the grand finale of the youth rapid cycle where selected players from the district level compete with each other. Youth rapid events were held separately as Under 08, 10, 12, 14, 16 & 18 Open & Girls categories. Time control of the event is 15 minutes plus a 10-second increment from move one.

In the Under 16 Girls category, 33 players competed in the event where Desandhi Dhihansa Gamage of Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya was the top seed. 07 Rounds were played in the category. Desandhi Dhihansa Gamage of Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya won the championship scoring 6/7 points

In conjunction with Vesak day, the Buddhist association of our school organized a campaign in school premises with the participation of all the students and teachers including the principal.
Also, an eight-foot high vesak lantern was also presented for the 23rd Vesak celebration held jointly by the Buddhist congress and the President’s Office on the 5th, 6th, and 7th of May.Lighting of oil lamps and vesak lanterns in the school premises was organized on the fifth of May with the participation of the prefects board and the parents.

The Annual Social Gathering for the class of 2020/2021 “REMINISCE’21 “of Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya was held in the school premisses on 24th of April 2023.It was glamorously celebrated with lots of colourful events under the patronage of madam principal Mrs.R.M.R.Herath former principal madam Ms Nanda de Silva ,school management committee and the academic staff were invited for this colourful evening. Miss Sirimavian 2020 beauty pageant was the highlight of the event and Dilini Sathsara Kodagoda was crowned as the winner .
