Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya is a well-known girls’ school located in Colombo, the commercial city of Sri Lanka. Established in 1973, the school has a long and distinguished history of delivering education to young ladies in Sri Lanka. The school is named after Sirimavo Ratwatte Dias Bandaranaike, the world’s first female Prime Minister who served as the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka for three terms.
The school has a strong academic record and has produced many successful students who have gone on to achieve great things in various fields. The school has consistently performed well in national examinations and has been recognized for its excellence in education.
Apart from academics, the school places a strong emphasis on extracurricular activities and encourages students to participate in a variety of clubs and societies. The school has a strong sense of community and encourages students to participate in various community service projects. Students are encouraged to volunteer their time and skills to help those in need, and the school has several programs to facilitate this.

“උගනිමු , හැදෙමු , සැනසෙමු “යන ආදර්ශ පාඨය පෙරටු කර ගනිමින් සිරිමාවෝ බණ්ඩාරනායක විද්‍යාලය අනන්‍යතාවය සුරැකී මෙහිලා ප්‍රධාන වන්නේ අප විද්‍යාලයට ම සුවිශේෂී වූ පාසල් ලාංඡනයයි.
එහි පෙති පහකින් යුත් රේණු සහිත මලකි. පහන් දෙකක් එක් වී දැල්වෙන සිළුවෙන් ඒ මල ආලෝකමත් වේ. මලෙහි පෙති පහෙන් ගම්‍ය වන්නේ සිරිමාවෝ බණ්ඩාරනායක විද්‍යාලය ආරම්භ කළ මුල් අවධියේ පටන් එක් ශ්‍රේණියකට අයත් වූ පන්ති පහට ආවේණික නාමයන් වන නෙළුම්, සමන් ,මානෙල් ,නාමල් හා කුමුදු යන මල් වල නම් ය. මල්කෙමියේ සිට පිටතට ඇදෙන රේණු සමූහය මගින් දෘශ්‍යමාන වන්නේ ඒ ඒ පන්ති කාමර තුළ ඉතිහාසයේ පටන් මේ දක්වා ඉගෙන ගන්න සිරිමාවෝ බණ්ඩාරනායක කීර්තිනාමය විශ්වය තුල පැතිරවීමට සමත් වන ආදරණීය සිරිමාවියන් ය.
පහන් දෙකක් එක්වීමෙන් දැල්වෙන පහන් සිළු මලට ආලෝකය ගෙන දේ. පහන් දෙකෙන් සංකේතවත් වන්නේ විනය හා දැනුමයි. ඒවා එක්වීමෙන් සෑදෙන යෝධ පහන් සිළුවේ ආලෝකය ඉමහත් ශක්තියක් වී විදුමව් තුරුලේ හැදෙන වැඩෙන දහසක් දියණිවරුන්ට ජීවය ලබා දෙයි. සාරධර්ම නැමැති තෙල් වලින් පෝෂණය වී පුරා වසර 50ක් තිස්සේ දැල්වෙන එම පහන් සිළුව තව තවත් ආලෝකමත් වී සිරිමාවෝ බණ්ඩාරනායක විද්‍යාලයේ කීර්තිය දසත පතුරාලමින් තවත් අනාදිමත් කාලයක් දැල්වෙනු ඇත.
පාසල් ධජය නිර්මාණය කරනු ලබන්නේ 1982 දී ය.
පාසලේ අනන්‍යතාවය සුරකින වස්තූන් අතර පාසලේ ධජයට හිමි වන්නේ අනගිභවනීය ස්ථානයකි. විද්‍යාලයේ නිල වර්ණය වනුයේ රෝස සහ නිල් වර්ණයන්ය. රෝස පැහැයෙන් කාන්තාවක සතු සෞම්‍යභාවය නිරූපණය වන අතර , නිල් පැහැය අහසක් සේ පාරිශුද්ධ බව, පූර්ණ මානසික ශක්තිය හා චරිත ශක්තිය නිරූපණය කරන අතර මේ සියල්ලේ ආභාෂය ලබමින් ලොවට පා තබන සිරිමාවියන් මුළු මහත් සමාජයටම ප්‍රභෂ්වරයක් වන බවත් පාසල් ධජයෙන් ප්‍රකාශිත වේ.
