In conjunction with Vesak day, the Buddhist association of our school organized a campaign in school premises with the participation of all the students and teachers including the principal.
Also, an eight-foot high vesak lantern was also presented for the 23rd Vesak celebration held jointly by the Buddhist congress and the President’s Office on the 5th, 6th, and 7th of May.Lighting of oil lamps and vesak lanterns in the school premises was organized on the fifth of May with the participation of the prefects board and the parents.

The Annual Social Gathering for the class of 2020/2021 “REMINISCE’21 “of Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya was held in the school premisses on 24th of April 2023.It was glamorously celebrated with lots of colourful events under the patronage of madam principal Mrs.R.M.R.Herath former principal madam Ms Nanda de Silva ,school management committee and the academic staff were invited for this colourful evening. Miss Sirimavian 2020 beauty pageant was the highlight of the event and Dilini Sathsara Kodagoda was crowned as the winner .

Sirimavo Sports Meet 2023

The Inter-House Sportsmeet of Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya, Colombo 07 was grandly held on 21.04.2023 at the school playground. Mr. Upali Amaratunga, the Director of Sports, Health and Physical Education of the Ministry of Education, graced the event as the chief guest and Mrs. Kusalani Wickramaratne, the Deputy Director of Physical Education of the Colombo Education Region, attended as the guest of honour.
Representing the houses of Hansa, Kokila, Mayura and Paravi, the girls displayed their sporting abilities well.

Vortex’22, the second installment of the Inter School Astronomical Quiz Competition was held as a physical event for the first time on the 26th of March from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm.

The top 15 teams who got the highest marks for the first round out of 40 teams were chosen for this round.

The competition consisted of a quiz round, task round and a lecture.

Nalanda College- Team A won the championship of the competition while the Team A of Royal College was the 1st Runners Up and Ananda College Team A was the 2nd Runners Up.

The Assistant Principal Madam Anoja Gamage, The Teacher in Charge of All Societies Madam Meththa Rodrigo and The Teacher in Charge of the Astronomical Society Mr. Prasanga Mahawatta distributed the trophies and medals.

The ceremony of welcoming the new students  to the school for the year 2023, was held on 28/03/2023 in a grand manner with the participation of the Principal, the Assistant principal of the primary section, the teachers of the  primary section and the parents of the new students. The event became more magnificent with the dancing and singing items done by the Grade 2 students
